California Gastroenterology Associates is a blossoming partnership between Dr. Naeem Akhtar, Dr. Ambreen Khurshid, and Michael Alper PA. Our Board certified physicians are recognized as leaders in the treatment of all digestive disorders including: Gastroesophageal reflux disease (heartburn), Crohn's disease, Colitis, Colon cancer screening, as well as disorders of the, liver, pancreas and gallbladder. Working closely with your primary care physician, Drs. Akhtar, Khurshid and Michael Alper PA work closely with your primary care physician and strive to understand and diagnose your gastrointestinal disorder, thus consistently receiving referrals from other doctors who respect their knowledge and expertise. Our group also has a close working relationship with the University of California, San Francisco and Stanford, therefore providing the best of care possible. We are affiliated with the Saint Agnes Medical Center, Madera , Fresno and Clovis Community hospitals.

With two locations covering a 50-mile radius, CGA provides health care services for the Fresno and Madera counties.

Our endoscopy centers are built with patient care and privacy foremost in our mind. State of the art equipment combined with licensed professionals ensures total patient satisfaction. Services provided at our centers include colonoscopy, EGD (upper endoscopy), flexible sigmoidoscopy, capsule endoscopy (for the detection of small bowel abnormalities). Manometry, pH monitoring, breath testing for Helico- Bacter Pylori and lactose intolerance. We also provide for colitis and crohns disease, celiac disease, liver diseases, gastro esophageal reflux disease and colorectal diseases.
